Visa Application Support

Handy checklist for non-U.S. citizens traveling to the United States for CppCon 2025

For the smoothest possible experience at the border, CppCon recommends that you carry the following with you in addition to your visa or ESTA.

  • A printout of your personal CppCon invitation letter that you can obtain via this form.
  • A printout of CppCon conference information: the conference’s home page, and the conference’s schedule and content.
  • A printout of email correspondence showing you have registered as a CppCon attendee or you have been invited as a speaker.

Additionally, we recommend that you also carry the following, but you only need to present these if you are asked to.

  • A printout of your flight itinerary showing your return date to your home country.
  • Copies of additional documentation evidencing ties to your home country to confirm your intent to return. For example: recent bank statements, property/residence documents (such as lease agreement or mortgage), or recent paystubs from employer abroad.
  • Documentation showing you have family in the home country to return to. For example: a marriage certificate, or birth certificates of any children.
  • Documentation confirming you have the ability to financially support yourself while in the United States. This is also covered in the invitation letter, above, but if you have any additional such documentation you can bring that too. For example: recent bank or credit card statements showing financial means to pay for yourself during your visit.

Finally, answer “No” if you are asked “you getting any payment/income/fee from this conference?” Note: Even if CppCon is reimbursing some of your expenses, including as a speaker or volunteer, that is not a payment/income/fee, unless you are a CppCon Academy instructor teaching an onsite class.
